Play Bomberman-Style Action Online, Free, No Download
Boomber lets you play a Bomberman-style arena game online for free, directly in your browser. There's nothing to install and nothing to sign up for — open the page, pick a mode, and you're placing bombs within seconds.
What Boomber is
Boomber is a free, independently built arcade game in the Bomberman mold: place bombs to carve a path through a destructible grid arena, catch rivals in the blast radius, and scoop up whatever power-up the explosion uncovers. Whoever's still standing when the round ends wins. It's built for the browser from the ground up, so there's no client to download and no platform account to create — it's not an official Bomberman product, just an independent take on that same classic arena-bomb formula.
How to start playing
- Open Boomber and choose Solo to practice against bots, or Play Online to join a live match.
- Solo mode drops you straight into a round against configurable bots — good for learning the controls and the map layout.
- Play Online either creates a fresh room (you get a 5-letter code to share) or joins one with a code a friend sent you.
- Nothing to configure the first time: default settings work out of the box, and the host can adjust round length, win target, and the map from the lobby.
Multiplayer, the way it should work
Online matches run on dedicated rooms: the host sets the options, everyone else readies up, and the round starts once the lobby agrees. If your connection drops mid-round, rejoining the same room picks you back up in your seat rather than starting over. See Bomberman multiplayer for more on rooms, teams, and reconnecting, or Play with friends for the fastest way to get a group into the same match.
Controls
Movement is arrow keys or WASD, bomb placement is a single key (X by default), and there's a second "special" action mapped to C. On phones and tablets, the same controls appear as an on-screen d-pad and two action buttons automatically. Full details are on the How to Play page.
Why browser-based, no download
Boomber runs entirely as a web app — the same code that ships the game also installs it as a lightweight app on your home screen if you want (via your browser's "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" option), but that step is optional. Either way, there's no executable to trust, no storefront account, and no update to wait on: reloading the page always gets you the current build.
